Due to alarming issues over security to visit Philippines. China impose absolute new travel ban on the Philippines while South Koreans get jittery over destination’s security. Travelers visiting Philippines are dropping off rapidly from China & South Korea, who are major source revenue to Philippines Tourism Market.
China Slaps new travel ban on the Philippines, because of this Chinese travelers cancelled their bookings to visit Philippines. china government also warned its citizens not to travel to Philippines due a recent tragedy of kidnap of 18 year old Chinese in Zamboanga and also an alleged plot against the Chinese Embassy& Embassy in the Country.
This is second time ban on Philippines in the recent years. The first was in May 2012 for 5 months which was caused by the diplomatic row over ownership claims to Scarborough Shoal Islands in the South China Sea.
Travel Agencies to Say
Local Travel Agencies has a big impact because of the decision by China government. All Bookings (i.e. Flights, Hotel, Resorts) including Groups & FIT’s to Philippines were cancelled which are until December 2014. The local agencies has mentioned that there were absolute ZERO arrivals until December 2014 and this is supposed to be a high season for Philippines and there is a big impact to travel industry.

The South Korean Ambassador Mr. Hyuk Lee also expressed warning on 2nd September 2014 in Manila over the alarming issue of “Increasing crime incidents against Koreans in Philippines who came as a Tourist or for a Business purpose. Even Mr. Hyuk Lee also warned all businessmen to avoid business relations with Philippines if crime incidents won’t stop or persist again in future.
